Val d’Isère is leveling up for Winter 25/26 – what’s new in resort this season

11th November 2025 | Val d'Isere

Having just been voted best European ski resort in the Condé Nast Traveller Reader’s Choice Awards, Val d’Isère is not sitting on its laurels. From ski area upgrades to family friendly activities and new accommodation, there are plenty of new reasons for Val d’Isère to come out top.

Ski Area upgrades

A new lounge area at the top of the Fornet Cable car, with picture windows taking advantage of the views across the valley, will give skiers a place to take a break before heading up to the higher slopes on the Vallon bubble, which itself was new in 2024.

Two new open access terraces have been created.  Both have panoramic views and orientation tables with binoculars to help you identify the surrounding peaks. One is in the Le Fornet sector with views of the Galise and Tsanteleina and one on the Madeleine ski slope with views of the Charvet and Sana peaks.

Accommodation changes

Alpina Lodge in the centre of the resort has been totally renovated. Each apartment (be that for 2 or 10 people) has been redesigned to combine alpine elegance with modern comforts.

The Le Parc development of just 11 exquisite chalet apartments will be ready for this winter season. Beautifully designed interiors offer an elegant take on alpine style using traditional materials. Le Parc also features a fitness room, yoga studio and a concierge service, offering the best in luxury living. Three apartments remain to be sold. Get in touch for more details.

New restaurants.

Perhaps the most noticeable difference in Val d’Isère this year will be the renovation of the old La Daille lift station by the Folie Douce. The new 650m2 ‘Petite Cuisine – Gare Centrale’ will offer food, bars, performances, children’s workshops and much more.

In the village the Altiplano in the K2 Chogori hotel is being replaced with ‘The Bottleneck’. Inspired and named after the legendary part of the K2 summit climb, it will serve traditional cuisine featuring open flame cooking and speciality fondues.

Family activities

Families are well catered for in Val d’Isère. As well as free lift passes for children under 8 and free après-ski activities for all ages (sledging, torchlight descents, nature walks…), This year the Folie Douce is offering creative workshops for children aged 6-14 years old. There are three different themes to choose from: Chocofolie (a chocolate-filled experience), First Track (DJing and learning to mix) or Studio Folie (based around the world of fashion).
