Video: New Ski Lifts for Morzine – Avoriaz

22nd September 2017 | Morzine

Here at Free Spirit Alpine we are excited to tell you about a new project coming to the resort that will transform your skiing experience in Morzine. Plans have been under development for some time and have finally been released, for the new ski lift connecting Morzine to the fantastic high altitude neighboring resort of Avoriaz.

If you are thinking of purchasing a ski property in this captivating dual season resort the timing may be just right, as property prices will almost certainly increase once the project is complete. The new lift will open Morzine up to a whole new level of skiing convenience by directly linking the town to Avoriaz, with quicker and easier access to the rest of the Portes Du Soleil. A new parking area will also be created in Morzine, near to the base station.

The views from the lift are going to be spectacular, as the lift takes you above the town, and through the Prodain Valley, dropping you off at the New Prodain 3S lift and on to the centre of Avoriaz (resort height 1800m).

This video shows you the exact plans for the two resorts, and includes some excellent graphics to demonstrate exactly how the new lift stations will work. There are two options for the lift pylons yet to be decided upon, both shown in the video, as the final plans are still to be be released.

This project will be greatly beneficial for the town of Morzine, hikers and mountain bikers as well as skiers. It will reduce traffic in Morzine as well as in the Prodain Valley, decreasing pollution. The link between Morzine and Avoriaz will take 14 minutes, saving some considerable time connecting to the rest of the Portes Du Soliel and having a positive effect on the two areas.
