The Ski Apartment Property Market in st Martin de Belleville February 2018

9th February 2018 | st Martin de Belleville

We’re half way through the ski season and time to look back at some notable ski apartment sales in st Martin de Belleville and what they mean for the direction of its property market moving further into 2018.

a combination of an increase in confidence in the strength of sterling and a general Brexit fatigue

The amazing snow conditions bought skiers returning to the three valleys for Premier Neige in numbers not seen for many years.  Typically for agents this is a mixed blessing – large numbers of  people in resort does not always mean more focused and serious viewers and agents are always wary of those just fitting in property around a skiing day. With our selling window extending over the full year, it would be tempting to downplay the importance of a good ski season but its still a strong transaction period for our agency.

This year however there have been many serious buyers around, a combination of an increase in confidence in the strength of sterling and a general Brexit fatigue giving buyers an unmistakeable air of ‘now’s the time to buy’.

Consequently we’ve had some excellent viewings and even better sales, with strong support for apartments around the one to one and a half million Euro mark, and an emphasis on quality over surface appeal.  The holy trinity of property sales still apply – a good apartment, accurately priced and well located will sell in even the worst ski property markets, so in this relatively bouyant one, interest is guaranteed for the right properties.

We don’t see this level of demand decreasing in the short term, the st Martin de Belleville property market is typified by short supply, and with the likes of our new l’Epicerie development of four apartments being released on Monday we see a very active market for the foreseeable future.

Our Top Tip? Call agents, explain what you’re looking for in detail and be prepared to be shown properties that don’t 100% match your wish list, agents know the many, many times people buy something completely different having fallen head over heels in love. Well it’s nearly Valentines day after all….
