Video: Keeping it ‘Reel’ at the Lake…

22nd August 2017 | Morzine

If you’re in the Portes Du Soleil area visiting Morzine then the village of Montriond, just a few kilometers down the road is not to be overlooked and home to an impressive array of stunning chalets and exquisite scenery.

If the summer time is the only time you have available to come and view properties in Morzine, make sure that its not “all work and no play”. Lake Montriond is a perfect destination for a little R&R, and the largest lake in the Haute-Savoie area. It is a real haven of peace, nestled at the foot of immense cliffs and operated in the summer as a base for leisure and a vast playground. There are many activities to choose from: pony rides, children’s paddling pool, kayaking, paddle boarding, bathing, or just lazing in this magical setting between awe inspiring cliffs and ancient forests.

For the keen fishermen Lac Montriond is full of fish including trout, minnows, char, knight, and blageon, all ready to test your patience.

After a gentle walk, exhausted from all the activities, its time to stop for lunch. The restaurants on each side of the lake offer traditional Savoyard dishes overlooking the water with incredibly impressive views. In the winter the lake transforms itself into a frozen mystery and is the envy of other ski resorts. The vast territory transforms itself into a cross country’s skiers dream, and for those of you a little more adventurous you can dive beneath the ice and discover a completely different world.
